
The Challenge
African Elephant Lodge needed reliable Wi-Fi in guest rooms for a modern hospitality experience. A previous provider attempted a full-room wireless rollout using TP-Link access points and copper-clad aluminium (CCA) cabling. They struggled for weeks to go live; when the network finally came up, it did not work properly. At the distances they had run, CCA simply could not deliver a stable Gigabit-class link — rooms were dark or unusable on Wi-Fi when guests needed it most.
Our Solution
African Vanilla was brought in to revamp the network properly. We replaced the failed CCA plant with full Gigabit Cat6 copper, redesigned access-point placement, and deployed Reyee (Ruijie) wireless throughout the lodge so coverage and throughput reach the rooms — not just the reception desk. The result is a guest network that behaves like hospitality infrastructure, not a residential mesh stretched past its limits.
In hospitality, Wi-Fi is not a nice-to-have. Guests judge the stay by whether Zoom, streaming and messaging work in the room — not whether the lobby has a single blinking AP.
