The work is remote-first, with on-site only when a job actually needs hands on a desk, a rack, or a warehouse floor.
What “based in Johannesburg” means in practice
It means:
- The company is registered and reachable at Strauss Avenue, Wilgeheuwel, Roodepoort, Johannesburg, 1724.
- The people who own the relationship sit in South Africa, in the same time zone as most of our local clients.
- Same-day or next-day on-site is realistic in greater Johannesburg and the wider Gauteng region because we do not have to fly someone in for a switch swap or a stubborn access point.
It does not mean we only take work from Sandton, Midrand, or the West Rand. Treating a national (or international) business as a “Johannesburg company” because that is where the invoice address sits is how you end up with a website that ranks for one metro and looks closed to everyone else.
How South Africa outside Gauteng actually gets support
Most modern IT work is already remote: monitoring, patching, helpdesk, cloud, backups, ERP configuration, website changes. For that, the physical city is irrelevant.
When someone has to be on site — a server install, a cabling mess, a site that will not open a port, a warehouse move — we use a vetted partner network. You keep one account manager and one standard. We will not pretend we have a London or Dubai office. We will tell you what is delivered remotely, what needs a local pair of hands on your side, and what is out of scope. That honesty is the product.
Why the homepage no longer repeats “Johannesburg” in every heading
Search engines need a truthful NAP (name, address, phone) and a clear service area. Buyers need to know whether you can help them. Stuffing a city name through the H1, every H2, the FAQs, and a suburb list does not make you more local. It makes you look like you only exist for that city — which is the opposite of a national or export-facing business.
So the split is deliberate:
- Home and the services hub describe the work: managed IT, websites, SEO, ERP, cybersecurity. South Africa and international, without a metro laundry list.
- This article, the contact page, and Google Business Profile carry the Johannesburg office, the address, and the “how coverage works” detail.
- Individual service pages can still speak to local intent where it is genuine (on-site managed IT, a website for a local firm) without forcing every visitor through a Johannesburg doorway.
